Needle & Thread

Hello and Welcome, I hope your Saturday is going great! I'm excited to be getting in here early and sharing this beautiful card I made using the Needlepoint Nook Suite. Yesterday I shared a card that was fairly clean and simple. Today's card is a more stepped up version. I added a larger piece of DSP that layered with a bit of Poppy Parade cardstock. I stamped the stitched flourish stamp along side the DSP panel in Poppy Parade. I then stamped the flowers in So Saffron on some whisper white and cut them out with the matching framelits. I also stamped the leaves in Balmy Blue ink. I then cut out some of the leaf elements using Poppy Parade and Tranquil Tide cardstock scraps. I layered them all up and glued them down with some stampin dimensionals. I did tuck the leaf elements in using some glue dots. Once I got that looking the way I wanted it I stamped the sentiment in Poppy Parade ink on a strip of whisper white and then flagged the one end with scissors. The last thing I did was add a few Basic Pearls to the center of the flower and around the the front. I seem to almost always just use three...three pearls or sequins. Not always but usually. LOL

I was never really wild about the Poppy Parade color but I tell ya I have really started using it more I it's growing on me. Alright now I want you remember this card and color scheme, because tomorrow I'm going to show you a card I made and I changed up the color scheme some. I don't know about you but I have a tendency to lock a stamp set in with the accompanying designer series paper colors and find myself not trying it out in other color combo's. I have been working on trying to take them out of the stigma of that. I seem to get tunnel vision and forget to change it up.

The more I look at this paper though....wow Oh here's a little tidbit for ya, the paper designs are actually ones that Stampin' Up! made by having someone stitch out the designs and then they photographed them. So cool.

Well I'm off to get some mild cleaning done around the house and prepare a few things for tomorrow's big game. Terry is planning on doing some BBQ so I'm gonna stay far away from the kitchen LOL I get to spend most of the day crafting away! Yay Me....! I have some Birthday cards to make.
